About me and my journey

Hello there and welcome to my website. My name is Lizzy and I am an experienced Cognitive Hypnotherapist. I work with clients overcome a range of issues – from anxiety, depression and confidence issues to problems with addiction and phobias. Whatever it is you need help with, I’m not here to label you, but to guide you and support you towards breaking free from whatever it might be that is currently holding you back from living the life you want to live.

Client Centred Therapy

The most important thing to me is to provide you with the best care possible and so I will ensure that you feel safe and comfortable during our work together and tailor each sessions to you as an individual. The work we do together is about you, and your unique set of circumstances and life experiences. I will draw from a variety of skills and techniques to craft a treatment plan aimed specifically to you and your needs to help you get you to where you want to be.

I will also provide you with complimentary bespoke audio recordings for you to listen to in between sessions which will consolidate the work we do together.

The sessions are relaxed and we will work together as a team so that you can achieve positive changes that last.


I had struggled with my own issues for years. Particularly with low confidence, low self-esteem and at times depression and anxiety. Being brought up in a turbulent household with a mother who suffered from mental health problems, including depression and paranoid schizophrenia, and a step-father who struggled to cope, I spent most of my childhood trying to keep out of the way of the chaos. Trying to make myself invisible. 

As a result, I grew up believing that I didn’t matter to anyone. This had a massive impact on the decisions I made for myself as a young adult, and especially how I related to others. It meant that I didn’t trust other people could truly care for me, which had damaging effects on my relationships. I didn’t believe that I deserved much from life, which prevented me from trying to achieve anything great just for myself. And all this was happening on an unconscious level, outside of my awareness. 


Discovering Cognitive Hypnotherapy

Having tried many ways to feel better about myself over the years, I came across Cognitive Hypnotherapy with a fair amount of scepticism. I knew it could help people with people who are afraid of flying and who have trouble sleeping, but I somehow believed that the stuff from my past was too difficult to undo the damage from. 

However, here I am today to tell you that there is a way forward. You can absolutely be free of negative, limiting beliefs and destructive behaviour patterns. 

There are as many routes to problems as there are people and we won’t all experience life in the same way. Yet many of us will struggle with similar problems at some point, such as lack of confidence, low self-esteem or addictions. Cognitive Hypnotherapy recognises that we are all incredibly unique and sessions are aimed getting to the root of the problem and therefore the sessions are tailored to the individual using a variety of techniques.

“Fellow Strugglers”

I trained with a wonderful teacher who liked to use the phrase: “we’re all fellow strugglers” which I agree is a great leveller. 

Rarely does anyone get out of life unscathed. Society, family, the media and cultural conditioning all play a part in heaping expectations onto us. Many of us can end up feeling like we’re not good enough in some way. That we don’t know who we are, or even what we even want anymore. For plenty of us, the journey is about returning to our real selves without the stresses, addictions, coping strategies and low self-esteem that limit us from being, or wanting to be our authentic selves – and liking the person we are!


A ‘Me Too’ Business

As one of Russell Brand’s mentors, Jimmy Mulville, pointed out to him on his recovery from addiction, being human is a “me too” business. Self-realisation comes not from the mountain top, but from the mud. We are all in the mud together. It can be a huge relief and comfort to know you’re not the only one who finds life tough at times and that is why I like to be transparent about my own struggles, rather than appearing as someone who always had it all together. It’s because of my own struggles that I have made it my mission in life to serve others so that they too can let go of the things that are keeping them down and holding them back. 

I have a special kind of respect for those willing to uncover their processes which cause limiting and destructive behaviours, beliefs and other patterns. The first step is to want to change, the next bold and brave step is to reach out and do something about it. 

Together we can get to the heart of the problem in order to move you forward in life. I have the tools, dedication, experience and love to help you get past whatever limits you. Together we can get you moving forward into the life you want.

If you decide to work with me, I will be with you every step of the way. I will provide support, insight and practical solutions so you can be on your way feeling lighter and more confident about the future, offering you a safe space to explore your own mind and understand yourself better.

Whilst we work together I will:

  • Provide a space for you to be understood and listened to;
  • Teach you practical skills and techniques to use outside of the sessions;
  • As a trained Cognitive Hypnotherapist and NLP practitioner, I’ll use techniques proven to have a lasting positive impact;
  • Provide you with bespoke hypnotic recordings tailored to you and your needs; and
  • Be available for consistent and on-hand support, encouragement and insights between therapy sessions via email or WhatsApp.

My Training

I have been trained personally by the founder of The Quest Institute. For the last two decades The Quest Institute has positioned itself at the forefront of therapy and coaching. This is proven by the development and continued growth of Quest Cognitive Hypnotherapy (QCH).

QCH is a cutting-edge, evidence-based approach. It integrates many of the most effective techniques from the world of therapy, neuro-linguistic programming, hypnotherapy and coaching.
